Ranch in Napa Valley

Trinchero Family Estates has sold its 75-acre Zinfandel Ranch vineyard and wine production facility in Napa Valley to an investment group known as Rutherford Studios.
Rutherford Studios includes managing director Joel Gott of Gott Wine Company and Three Thieves wines, and two other well-known Napa Valley residents, John Webb and Tim McDonald.
Industry veteran Mark Beringer, formerly the Executive Winemaker of Duckhorn Wine Company, will manage the facility in Saint Helena for the new company known as Rutherford Studios.
The 75 acres, it includes the Chicken Ranch Vineyard, with blocks planted to Cabernet Sauvignon (20 acres) and Merlot (6 acres), a warehouse, fermentation building, tank farm, commercial kitchen and six dwellings as well as other buildings and offices. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
“The sale of this property will enable us to realize a long-term goal of redirecting a percentage of our production to a more efficient location,” stated Trinchero.
The transition is expected to happen over a period of time.
Trinchero Family Estates retains a 30-year lease on the Chicken Ranch Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards.
In addition, Trinchero Family Estates has a four-year lease on all facilities at the Ranch, including a Culinary Center, bottling and packaging lines, storage, and other buildings.
