Held at the Marco Island Yacht Club Sunday evening, event goers were treated to tastes of wine from around the globe, provided by The Wine Cellar.

The various wine-tasting tables around the upstairs room at the yacht club, featured wines from Italy, France, Spain, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia as well as The United States.

From the chamber office, Sunday's event was planned by Marketing Director Vicki Williams, along with Mary Ann Cofer. Cofer said the event was held in late June, so that most members would be able to attend.

"We had never had one before, so we decided to try it, and do it at a time of the year where more of our members could participate, because we're not in season." Cofer said.

The wine tasting event was highlighted by a "live" auction.

The wine tasting itself was one of the highlights of the year so far for chamber president Judy Gewirtz. She says her leadership has been helped immensely by the energy of the chamber members.
